Description
These are designs based from the Historical African hair for pattern work that can be used for multiple textural and fabric purposes such as rugs, throws, blankets etc. Bantu is a term that is used for more than 400 ethnic groups in Africa from Cameroon to South Africa which we are all united by a common family which is the Bantu language. In Many of the languages in Africa “Bantu” means people. Its also seen that many ethnic groups in Africa share a similar characteristic. Before Bantu, Southern half of Africa was populated by the Khoisan which today are found around the Kalahari and a few places in Tanzania. Fun fact There are two theories Joseph Greenberg states that hundreds of African languages and groups in Southeastern Nigeria that were close to the Bantu group, and believes that the language spread South and East. Another theory Malcom Guthrie states that the language was spoken in Zambia in the Southern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). He believes they emerged from Zambia then spread in all directions.
